• Candied Orange Peels

When you see this title your first thought is probably, “Is it really edible?”. Yes, candied orange peel is actually really delicious and tastes like candy. As I was doing research on the history of candied orange peels, I found a lot of different sources saying different things. So here is what I know. Candied fruit dates back to Europe in the 15th century. While candied peel seems to have originated from the Arab culture, the act of using sugar to preserve food may have originated in China and Mesopotamia. • Crème Brûlée

Crème Brûlée is a delicious dessert, that is basically a custard with caramelized sugar on top. Definitely one of my favorite desserts! It is very similar to the modern Crème Brûlée. The first written mention of Crème Brûlée was in 1691 when chef Francois Massialot, who worked at Versaillles, wrote the cookbook Le Cuisinier Royal et Bourgeois. The Ingredients 2 cups of half-and-half (If you don’t have any, you can use 1 cup of cream with 1 cup of milk) 5…

These pies/tarts are actually traditionally made with bilberries not blueberries. Bilberries are very similar in appearance to blueberries, but they are usually a darker color and don’t grow in clusters. They have a more intense flavor and are sweeter and juicier. Since fresh bilberries are not easily found in the U.S., (you can buy them dried), I used blueberries. The ingredients For the crust: 100 grams of butter 100 grams of sugar 1 egg 200 grams of flour 1 teaspoon of baking powder a pinch of cardamom For the filling: 250…
