Hiking Resurrection Pass

The Resurrection Pass trail is just over 38 miles long. The elevation changes from 500-2600 feet. One end of the trail is located near Hope, (about 2 hours outside of Anchorage), and the other is in Cooper Landing, due south. The hike (if you do the whole thing) is a point-to-point hike, not an out and back hike. If you plan on doing this hike you will either need to have someone pick you up once you get to the other side, or you will need a car at each trailhead.

We did the hike in 5 days and 4 nights.

Itinerary

Day 1: We started at the parking lot in Hope and hiked 7.1 miles in to Caribou Creek campsite. Each campsite we stayed at was mostly cleared out for a few tents, and had a bear box. This was a very large construction site type tool box to keep food overnight.

Day 2: We hiked to East Creek campsite which was 7.4 miles from where we camped on the previous night.

Day 3: On the next day we hiked 8.1 miles to Devil’s Pass campsite

Day 4: We hiked 8.8 miles and stayed in a campsite just south of Trout Lake.

Day 5: On the last day we finished the hike after hiking 6.9 miles.
